Salt and Pepper Shakers & Extra Credit

EXTRA CREDIT; Word = confusion
-Landscape/trails/ maps are confusing ( the brown line on the top is supposed to be a path/trail on a map and the little twirls all over the tiles are trees so they stand for landscape)
-Weather is confusing ( the yellow triangles are supposed to be the sun and the huge spot on the top left is supposed to be clouds and rain)

Final Grades

Glazing cat: C11 ( iron red; White)
2nd try to glaze bowl: L13 (Metallic Green, True Celadon)

It's supposed to be a pear. The glazing I've used is L4 ( Metallic Green, Turkish Amber), but because the cameras need to be charged I couldn't take a picture of the glazed shakers.

May Post

 LAST PROJECT:
When I was trimming my bowls I messed up one bowl, it had a huge hole at the bottom. It needed to be cut off from the rest and then Mrs. Gleeson had to put it on again on the wheel. I glazed all of my bowls but they are still in the firing room.
1st bowl

1st bowl

2nd bowl

4th bowl
2nd bowl

3rd bowl
The other glazed ones get fired right now.

CURRENT PROJECT:
I didn't know it has to be hollow, so I had to cut it in half and get rid of all the clay inside of the cat. After that I put it back together with the slip and score technique. But, because I couldn't reach the clay in the head, I also had to cut the head to do it.

End of 3rd Quarter

I finished my lidded form. I used the glazing L6, but it went into he fire room so I wasn't able to take a picture of the finished, fired glazing.

I started to work on the six little tiles, they are also in the firing room, which made it impossible to glaze it. So I'm NOT done with this project.
I was absent one day last week because of a choir trip and one day because of SOL's, but I worked every class on my projects.

I liked working on the wheel and create the cups, handbuilding wasn't my favorite. For me, it felt like to glaze the lidded form was the hardest thing we ever had to glaze.
If we would have had more time, I could have finished my six tiles. I'll probably finish it during chat now some day.
